The source of inspiration for the architecture of the Mežaparks Grand Open-Air Stage, the principal venue for the Latvian Song and Dance Celebration, is a silver birch grove – a poetic symbol of light and community in Latvian folklore. The visual identity of the exhibition on the open-air stage is designed in reference to this fragile but hopeful metaphor. The graphic expression is sensitive and nuanced – with fine lettered and image graphics and light colour transitions.
